It's important to have your child's teeth descaled - Premature loss of milk teeth can have serious consequences!

It's important to have your child's teeth descaled - Premature loss of milk teeth can have serious consequences!

Teeth that emerge for the first time are called milk teeth. Milk teeth are gradually replaced by permanent teeth. There is therefore a stage in life when both milk teeth and permanent teeth are present in the mouth. This is called the mixed dentition period, which is usually between 8 and 14 years of age. The mixed dentition period is critical!

It's a huge misconception that you don't need to be careful to clean your baby's baby teeth thoroughly because they will fall out anyway. Care for both milk and permanent teeth should be a priority, even from a very young age.

Teeth decay consequences

  • Biting, chewing
Even milk teeth are involved in the biting and chewing process. In their absence, children find it difficult to familiarise themselves with chunky, solid food.
  • Voice over
Even the absence of a tooth can lead to incorrect sound formation, as they help to learn to form individual speech sounds correctly.
  • Pain
Carious deciduous teeth can be sensitive, causing persistent, severe pain.
  • Gingival damage
An inflamed deciduous tooth can damage the germ of the permanent tooth it replaces.
  • Lack of space
When a baby tooth falls out, the two teeth next to it try to compensate for the space left by it, so they fill some or all of the empty space. As a result, the remaining tooth will no longer have room to erupt.

Dental scaling for children may be a solution to avoid the above

  • Control
In our studio, the semi-annual control examination and possible dental scaling for children treatment is essential to keep teeth healthy.
  • Tuesday
It is very important to introduce children to toothbrushing and get them to like it as early as possible. We can help a lot with this in the dental chair. After a thorough examination, a qualified dental hygienist will provide parents with child-tailored advice and motivate their child. Proper and professional prevention and removal of plaque in children play a huge role in avoiding serious consequences!
  • Nutrition
To keep teeth healthy, it is essential to develop good eating habits.
Replace sugary foods and snacks with raw fruit and vegetable snacks. Avoid sugary and/or fizzy drinks by far.
  • Cumi
Prolonged use is not healthy, as it can lead to deformation of the denture.

At our studio, we believe that with personal example, motivation and regular six-monthly check-ups, your child's teeth will be healthy.
